Earth's Oceans
The Earth's oceans make up 71% of Earth's surface. They are saltwater, and there are 5 main oceans that include: the Pacific Ocean, the Atlantic Ocean, the Indian Ocean, the Arctic Ocean, and the Southern Ocean. The Arctic Ocean is located in the Northern Hemisphere and is in the north polar region. It's the smallest and most shallow of Earth's five oceans. The Pacific Ocean is the largest one. It goes from the Arctic Ocean to the Southern Ocean, and is bordered by Asia, Austrailia, and North and South America. The Atlantic Ocean is the 2nd largest and is between Europe and Africa on the east, and North and South America on the west. The Indian Ocean is the 3rd largest, since it covers 20% of Earth's surface. It's bordered by Asia, Africa, Austrailia, and Antarctica. The last major ocean is the Southern Ocean. It's actually made of all of the world's oceans and where they come together at the Southern Hemisphere.
